The Honda CR-V gains a fresh trim level for 2016. The SE trim slots in between the uplevel EX trim and the base LX trim. Available in all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive, prices for the SE begin at $23,445. Sensing Safety technologies provided on the greater-end trim level, and the Special Edition SE trim added with 17-inch wheels, security system, and privacy glass.

Standard features in the 2016 CR-V include a USB port, Bluetooth, Pandora compatibility, a four-speaker audio system, and the rearview camera. Available features include a push-button start, power moonroof, a seven-speaker audio system, dual-zone automatic climate control, navigation, HD Radio, satellite radio, a seven-inch touch screen, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, Honda LaneWatch, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and the collision mitigation braking system that can automatically apply brakes in case collision is imminent.

Technology

Honda includes a seven-inch touch-screen display which works with a touch or swipes to control navigation, audio, and other telematics available on EX and even higher trim levels. Also, all 2016 CR-Vs boast a color multi-information display which can be controlled and adjusted from the steering wheel. The audio and telematics system of CR-V provides connectivity for an interface for Pandora, Bluetooth, and the text messaging.

Engine/ Fuel Efficiency

The CR-V compact SUV attains EPA fuel-economy ratings of 26 MPG city and 33 MPG highway, for the combined 29 MPG for FWD cars. The AWD version is moderately less-efficient, averaging 25 MPG city and 31 MPG highway with the combined EPA average-estimate of 27 MPG.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on each 2016 CR-V includes stability control and assist systems; ABS with the brake assist; frontal, front-side, and side-curtain air bags; and a multi-angle rearview camera which comes standard on all 2016 Honda versions. According to Honda, the front seats of CR-V are designed to minimize possible neck injury in case of a rear collision.
