Common Skin Rashes: Eczema & Plague Psoriasis

Rash refers to skin inflammation and discoloration of the normal skin appearance. It changes the normal skin color or texture. Infections, allergens, heat, certain medical medications including some antibiotics might cause skin rashes. Eczema, which is also called atopic dermatitis, and psoriasis are two most common skin disorders that can cause it.

1.Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis)
Eczema is a general term referring to various chronic skin conditions in which the skin is red, itchy, scaly, painful, irritated, burning and bumpy. Atopic dermatitis is one of the most common forms of eczema. Eczema is commonly found on the elbows, hands, knees, back, face, neck, chest and scalp. The skin rashes occurring may last for several days and the causes are sometimes unknown. Sometimes OTD products can help to ease skin rash.
Eczema symptoms can include:
a.Discolored skin patches
b.Skin rashes
c.Dry, thickened or scaly skin
d.Small bumps
e.Itching
f.Red swollen sensitive skin
Causes for skin rashes in eczema are usually unexplained or not known until you go to see a doctor for a detailed diagnosis. Though the cause of atopic eczema is not known, people with a family allergic history are prone to develop skin rashes. And some people with eczema may also have hay fever, hives or asthma.

2.Plague Psoriasis
Plague Psoriasis is a long-lasting autoimmune disease, which is characterized by patches or rashes of abnormal skin. These skin patches or skin rashes are red, itchy, bumpy and scaly. Psoriasis occurs as raised areas of inflamed skin covered with scaly skin. Skin rashes or patches are usually found in the hands, elbows, legs or knees, and back.
Psoriasis symptoms can include:
a.Red or white plaques
b.Skin rashes
c.Scaly spots
d.Cracked or bleeding skin
e.Painful and itchy skin
f.Stiff or swollen joints
The causes for psoriasis is not fully known, but people with a family history of the disease are more likely to develop this disease.

Ways to Treat Skin Rash
Treatments differ based on what skin rash a patient have been diagnosed with by doctors. Common skin rash can be cured by using steroid topical creams or lotions including hydrocortisone (for example, Dermarest Eczema, Cort-Aid, Cortizone-10, Neosporin Eczema) or non-steroidal treatments.
The following are some suggestions to treat skin rash:
1.Prevent dry skin
2.Do not use fragrances
3.Take vitamin D
4.Eat oatmeal
5.Stop alcohol and smoking
6.Take regular exercise
7.Have enough sleep
